Director of Bands
Ms. Tina Christiansen
Tina Christiansen currently serves as Director of Bands at Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Georgia, having previously served in the same school as Associate Director of Bands. As Director of Bands, Ms. Christiansen oversees the Pride of Mill Creek Marching Band, all concert ensembles, and both jazz ensembles. She is the primary conductor of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. From 2020-2022, Ms. Christiansen completed the master of Music degree in Wind Band Conducting at Georgia State University, where she studied under Dr. Robert J. Ambrose, Dr. Chester B. Phillips, and Mr. Devin Reid. During her time at GSU, she served as a graduate assistant for the GSU Band program and conducted the GSU Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, Concert Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and was the conductor and instructor of record for the GSU saxophone choir. Ms. Christiansen was the Graduate Assistant Director for the Panther Basketball Band and worked closely with the GSU Panther Band. |
In the spring of 2020, Ms. Christiansen graduated magna cum laude from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and is a student of Dr. Daniel A. Belongia. During her time at ATU, Ms. Christiansen performed as a saxophonist, percussionist, and singer in the ATU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, ATU Jazz Ensemble, ATU Symphonic Band, ATU Percussion Ensemble, and ATU choirs. In 2019, she was selected as a student conductor for ATU’s Concert Band. Through the ATU Jazz Ensemble Ms. Christiansen had the opportunity to perform and travel across Europe. Ms. Christiansen was also a member of Arkansas Tech University’s Band of Distinction and served as a drum major for 2 seasons.
Ms. Christiansen is from Van Buren, Arkansas, and graduated from Van Buren High School in 2015 under the direction of Ron Smith. Her professional affiliations include National Association for Music Education, and Tau Beta Sigma, an honorary band sorority. She was most recently selected as 1 of 14 conductors across the world to participate in the Robert Reynolds Conducting Institute. Ms. Christiansen is a life long learner and still plays her saxophone regularly as an active member of the Tara Winds adult community band. Outside of music, Ms. Christiansen loves to visit her family and friends in Arkansas, spend time with her cat Jiji, play video games, and cheer on the Atlanta Braves!

Associate Director of Bands
Mr. Nolan Clark
Mr. Nolan Clark serves as the Associate Band Director for the Mill Creek High School Bands. Mr. Clark is from Sugar Hill, Georgia and is an 2018 alumnus of Lanier High School. Prior to joining the Mill Creek Band staff, Mr. Clark taught at Saint Mary's Middle School in Saint Mary's, Georgia. During his time there, he taught five concert ensembles and worked closely with the Camden County High School marching band as they brought home their first Grand Championship in school history! Mr. Clark is the primary conductor of the MCHS Symphonic Winds and MCHS Concert Band.

Mr. Clark graduated from Georgia State University in 2022 with the bachelor's degree in music education. During his time at GSU, he performed with the Wind Orchestra, Brass Ensembles, Panther Marching Band, and Panther Basketball Band. Mr. Clark had the opportunity to serve as one of the Trumpet Section Leaders in the Georgia State University Panther Band and performed in the 2022 Rose Parade as well as the 2020 Arizona Bowl. He studied trumpet for four years with Dr. Alex Freund, Instrumental conducting with Dr. Chester Phillips and Mr. Devin Reed, and strengthened his philosophy of Music Education with Dr. Patrick Freer and Professor Anita Kumar. During my student teaching, Mr. Clark also had the opportunity to learn from Mr. Lee Newman, and Mrs. Maria Phillips Hesketh and work with the Norcross High School Band Program. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his friends and family.
