Concert BandS
​When students join the Mill Creek High School Band program, they are placed into one of five concert band classes that meet daily as part of the seven period academic schedule. Unlike middle school band, each of the five band classes has a mix of 9th-12th grade students, and they are ability based.  All students who sign up for band class will receive class placement materials and information early in the spring. The class placement audition is nothing to worry about. We have a place for everyone, regardless of ability or experience, and want to make sure everyone is put into the correct class!

Wind Ensemble

The Mill Creek High School Wind Ensemble is the premiere group in our program.  Comprised of our most top level musicians, this ensemble performs at least six times per year and is often invited to off campus invitationals.  Current MCHS students qualify for this ensemble by audition only.

Symphonic Bands

Our Symphonic Bands represent the intermediate and advanced students in our program.  These ensembles perform as few as five times per year, and every member must audition for placement in these ensembles.

Concert Band

Concert Band serves as our training class to help develop our intermediate musicians and prepare them for placement in one of our other groups.  This group is mostly comprised of freshmen, but regularly performs two to three times per school year.  All rising 9th grade percussionists are automatically placed into this band class.  Students will receive individualized, percussion-specific instruction and will perform with the concert band two to three times per school year.

Percussion 
​The Mill Creek High School Percussion Program offers several opportunities for students to participate in different avenues of percussion study.  Mill Creek Bands has two concert percussion ensembles during the Spring semester.  These are leveled based on skill: beginning/intermediate and advanced.  Each percussion ensemble rehearses twice a week and is selected based on band class assignment.  The Intermediate Percussion Ensemble performs once a semester, and the Advanced Percussion Ensemble performs twice. Those that wish to join the MCHS Percussion Ensemble should sign up in January.
