Mr. Nate Lee joined the Mill Creek Bands staff in July 2013. He currently coordinates all aspects of percussion, including Percussion Ensemble, the Pride of Mill Creek Drumline, and Mill Creek Winds. He is currently pursuing a DMA in Percussion Performance at the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music, where he is a student of Timothy Adams, Jr. Nate holds degrees from Indiana University (BM- Percussion Performance and BA- Economics) and the University of Georgia (MM- Percussion Performance).
Mr. Lee was recently appointed as the new Adjunct Percussion Instructor at Reinhardt University in Waleska, GA. In addition to teaching, he frequently performs with the Louisiana Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony, and Macon Symphony. Mr. Lee also leads the Athens-based steel pan quartet Classic City Pan, and maintains a private teaching studio of talented high-school and middle-school percussionists.
Joshua Montgomery is originally from Augusta, Georgia and has been involved in band since middle school. He originally studied alto saxophone in high school before joining the bass drum section for the University of Georgia Redcoat Marching Band. Josh marched quads for three years with the Redcoats under John Cypert, and three years with Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugles Corps under the tutelage of Chris Hestin. His marching career also includes one season with Atlanta Quest (2010) and two seasons with Music City Mystique (2013, 2014)
In addition to his role as battery coordinator at Mill Creek High School, Mr. Montgomery is currently the percussion coordinator and arranger at Lakeside High School (Augusta) and battery coordinator at Flowery Branch High School. He has been a member of the Percussion staff with Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugles Corps and is currently teaching with Palmetto Indoor Percussion.
